For the price, you get a goatskin binding, letterpress printing on quality cotton paper, 4 fitting illustrations, a scholarly and well written introduction, all this in a wonderful reading size. The short story itself is a great variation from themes explored in Dostoevsky’s more known works, and its humor is definitely enjoyable. A very good value, I can’t wait to see what’s next from the press!

I have all four books by this press and ‘The Crocodile’ took it to the next level! A great design combined with great execution. The endpapers are a wonderful feature that I hope stays around.

My first acquisition from Century Press, and it's a gem. Well translated and beautifully printed, illustrated, and bound, it's a delight from cover to cover. The special endpapers are a crocodilian treat as well! Keep up the fine work, looking forward to more like this.

I received my beautiful book today, the shipment to Norway being quite slow. But it was worth the wait. A great handmade production, very colourful end-papers indicating crocodile skin, again the fantastic touch of the letterpress, lovely leather binding, it is so clear that a lot of effort is behind this book. Lovely book!

I have no complaints with this book. The binding quality is what I expect. I really like the " crocodile skin " endpapers. Although totally unfamiliar with the title, I look forward to reading this book.

Awesomeness to the maximum dopeness

I love everything about this book! The leather cover is soft and flawless, the painted endpapers have a crocodile like texture, and the letterpress printing makes this book the best one yet! I am a collector of these Century Press books and am very impressed with the quality of this latest production! Keep it up Century Press! This one is fantastic! I’ve only just began reading this book so I can’t speak to the story, but I can report that the printing is top notch!
